Long time since I have not been writing now... I've just been to busy and maybe a little bit lazy when I had got time over.
A lot have happened and the biggest thing was of course when mom was visiting for 2 weeks. I picked her up at the airport and we went straight to the village in Negara to celebrate the ceremony of Sunhine becoming 3 month old. In Balinese hindhu this is a very big thing. For mom this was a little of a shock after she been traveling for more than 24 hours. There where 200-300 people visiting on the ceremony and people who helping where staying all around the clock.

Sunshine is getting the royal treatment at his ceremony.

Before the ceremony the baby may not touch the ground since the Balinese hindhu regard the infant as almost a god.

Mom became friend with the cute neighbour girl, Ari.

Sunshine is sleeping with his aunt, Iluh.
When the ceremony was over and we had been relaxing with the Putus family for a couple of days it was time to move on. We spent five 3 nights going around Bali on the way to Ubud. We stayed the first night in the hotsprings in the djungel in the mountains adn had a nice warm bath and exceptional good sleep.
We stayed in Amed for relaxing and swimming in the sea for 2 nights.

Sunshine is having the easy job, while I'm sweating carying him around and up and down at the hot springs.

Having playtime in the bed at the hot springs.

On the way to Amed we took the long, steap, winding road up to Kintamani where we had a wonderful view of Mount Batur (which had it's last eruption 2000) and the vulcano lake.

In Amed it was just relaxing...

Sunshine had his first bath in the sea...

And his first sleep in a hammock... That was nice!!!
After the Bali round trip we arrived to our new house in Ubud. In Ubud we spent the time eating good, relaxing, doing some daytrips and mom did a lot of shopping.

Relaxing in the new house...

Almost everything is fun when you are a baby...

Mom's last night happened to be the same night as one of my friends had a birthday party.

Mom and Putu had a lot of fun together...
It became very empty when mom left. But life must go on...
After that I worked as volonteer for the Swedish Embassy during Kuta Karnival and Bali filmfestival where they showed some Astrid Lindgren movies. Some of her movies where not allowed though since they where cencored due to nudity!!!
We had a small tent on the beach and were handing out information about Sweden to the people who where interested (not many). But I made some good friends and one of them also leading to a new business for me. I met A Taa and his wife Tiara who where on Bali to sell the pearls they grow on their own 3 islands and 3 adopted ones outside of Sulawesi. We became good friends and they wanted me to take care of their business on Bali but also for export. Cool! So now I hope that my problem with providing for us is over soon. First I have to get employed or start a acompany though.
All was not work though, and in Kuta we had some time to spend on the beach and met some friends we have neglected for long time. I even had time to surf!!! Yeah... for real... see the picture.

Me and Sunshine at Kuta Karnival...

Tiara and Sunshine... They got very good contact really fast...

A Taa and Sunshine having fun...

Sunshine sees his first Astrid Lindgren movie, "All we children in Bullerby Village".

Really... I'm surfing...

And look sooooo cool when coming up with the board...

Some of the pearls and the red coral that A Taa and Tiara have grown. Yes, they have certificate for that!
And now some more pictures of different stuff...

My neighbour, Putu, helps me a lot with the my garden in the village. Here he pollinates our vanilla.

This is how a vanilla orchid looks like...

Sunshine watches TV for the first time...

The rainy season is about to begin...

Sunshine likes flying....

He also likes to relax together with pappa...

He is happy ALL the time... Hrmmm... Maybe not all the time but quite a lot...

He likes to kiss his mamma...

And to get him really tough and strong like the ordinary Balinese person he have to make excercise on the cold and hard ceramic floor.

I'm doing what I do best... relaxing!

Real swedish toys that Sunshine got as a gift!

He even have a Dalahast... Also a gift, from Louise...

Mamma and Sunshine...

Cute, huh?

The children are working with moving the big stones. I would rather like to have them on the other side of the house, please. Faster, faster! I havn't got the whole day... I cant relax until you have finished your job! - I tell them. In Bali it's important to give job also to the children... They also have to be able to buy food and for that they need money. ;)

Relaxing...

Sunshine and his best friends...
That's all for this time... I promise that I will try to update more frequently from now on....
Take care everybody!
Hello, nice to see that you are all in good mood since I left!
ReplyDeleteMiss you all!
Nenek/Farmor Bibbi
Dear F,
ReplyDeletelovely to hear you're alive indeed. I'm in my "office" (a café) on Teneriffe working before the lunches and go swimming in the afternoons. It's like a dream come true. Too bad I will go home tomorrow though... :-)
Carina, Lowe and Sofi will stay for a couple of more days though.
Apart from all that, life's a real bitch, a lot of work, wonderfully cranky authors, terribly dull dinners, and too many books to read.
Hugs & kisses,
Joakim
Hi Fredrik!
ReplyDeleteCertainly long time no see!
How absolutetly wonderful to read about and see how you live. Cute family! I recognized your mother too (hi Bibbi!). It looks like you all are well och kicking it in Bali. What a nice life you´ve chosen.
I live in Jonsered, outside of Gothenburg, with a husband and two kids (2 1/2 & 6 yrs old) and work as an actress. We are (since roughly a year) living in a beautiful old Falu-red wooden house. I consider myself a very happy person!
You take care now!
My best regards and a big hug.
